2006

Founded in 2006 by Dr. Jake Epelle.

Began as a focused advocacy and capacity-building group, inspired by Dr. Epelle’s personal experiences with discrimination, stigmatisation, and the hardships associated with albinism. His initial goal was to prevent the next generation of people with albinism from enduring the same challenges.

2007

Collaborations with the International Community began with a donation of $ 100,000 from Ranbaxy - an Indian company based in Lagos;

The First National Conference on Albinism in partnership with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health.

The Sunshade Campaign

2008

Organizational Restructuring was necessary as TAF’s size and membership increased.

Skin Cancer Treatment Fund established - with support from the Nigerian Presidency.

Donor Agency Certificate of Recognition Received.

2009

The bill for the establishment of a National Agency for Albinism and Hypopigmentation in Nigeria was introduced and passed first and second readings.

The Nigerian Presidency inaugurated the Presidential Taskforce on Albinism in Nigeria.

2010

Strategic Discussions with International Partners - Germany, United Kingdom, The Albinism Fellowship of UK, Tanzania.

First ever workshop on the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

PTDF Scholarship to Oluchi Anwulam.

2011

the National Council on Education in Nigeria began to pursue an Inclusive policy on Education.

Albinism Awareness and Low Vision Support Project for Albino Children in Nigeria

Additional State Chapters included - from 22 to 30.

2012

Conclusion and Approval of the national blueprint on albinism education in Nigeria.

Rural Advocacy drive with Education Sector Support Program In NIgeria (ESSPIN).

Leadership Summit 2013 for The Albino Foundation’s Repositioning.
