









TAF Africa recently concluded the second round of advocacy visits across key ministries and stakeholders in Rivers State under the project “Enhancing Disability-Inclusive Governance in Rivers State (2025–2026), funded by the Disability Rights Fund (DRF).
The visits engaged the Ministry of Social Welfare & Rehabilitation, Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transportation, Head of Civil Service Commission and Council of Traditional Rulers as well as other relevant stakeholders.
The advocacy team, including representatives of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), highlighted the need for:
- Establishing disability desk offices and appointing disability desk officers.
- Implementing inclusive policies and programs, including the domestication of the Disability Act.
- Improving accessibility of public buildings and services.
- Ensuring PWD employment and inclusive education policies.
The ministries expressed commitment to collaborate with TAF Africa and integrate disability inclusion into their programs.
This initiative reflects TAF Africa’s vision for a Nigeria where no one is left behind, ensuring the rights, dignity, and participation of all citizens, including persons with disabilities.
